Travel Itinerary for Luxury South India Tour

Day 01 : Arrival in Chennai
Welcome to Chennai, the capital city of Indian state of Tamil Nadu in South India. Established by East India Company, Chennai (formerly known as Madras) is the gateway to southern India. It is one of the oldest cities of the country.

Upon arrival at Chennai Airport, India Travel Partner (ITP) representative will receive you with warm traditional welcome and transfer you to a luxury hotel. Freshen up and relax with welcome drink. Enjoy lavish lunch. After lunch, proceed on half-day sightseeing tour of Chennai city visiting Gandhi Memorial, Kala Kshetra, Mylapore Temple, Art Gallery & Museum, etc. Spend evening at famous Marine Beach – one of the longest beaches in the world. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 02 : Chennai – Kanchipuram – Mahabalipuram
After hearty breakfast at the hotel, drive to Mahabalipuram en route stopping at Kanchipuram to visit some of famous beautiful temples of Kanchipuram. Continue to Mahabalipuram. On arrival at Mahabalipuram ITP representative will transfer you to a luxury hotel. Relax at Mahabalipuram beach and watch spectacular sight of sunset over the sea. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 03 : Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry
Have a relaxed breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram. Visit the world famous Shore Temple and explore other historical monuments. In the afternoon drive to Pondicherry. On arrival in Pondicherry, ITP representative will transfer you to a luxury hotel. Freshen up and relax. Spend rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel.

Day 04 : Pondicherry – Tanjore
Take your breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy city tour of Pondicherry visiting Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, etc. Later, drive to Tanjore. On arrival at Tanjore, ITP representative will transfer you to a luxury hotel. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 05 : Tanjore – Trichy – Madurai
After an early morning breakfast, go on city tour of Tanjore visiting the famous Brahadeswara temple. Later proceed to Madurai visiting en route Ranganath temple and Rock Fort at Trichy. On arrival in Madurai, ITP representative will transfer you to a luxury hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 06 : Madurai
Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy city tour of Madurai – the second largest city of Tamil Nadu. Visit the world famous Meenakshi Amman Temple. Visit other attractions like King Tirumala's Palace, Great tank and Gandhi museum. Revisit the Meenakshi Amman Temple for prayer ceremony in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 07 : Madurai – Periyar
After breakfast in the morning, drive to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary – a famous destination for wildlife viewing in Kerala. On arrival at Periyar, ITP representative will transfer you to the hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy sightseeing tour by boat cruise over Lake Periyar to view wildlife of Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 08 : Periyar – Kumarakom
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to boat landing point. The boat will take you to Kumarakom – a land with endless natural beauty and known for serene & scenic backwaters. On arrival at Kumarakom, India Travel Partner representative will transfer you to a luxury resort. Spend rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the resort.

Day 09 : Kumarakom – Alleppey – Kumarakom – Cochin
Have your breakfast at the resort. Enjoy backwater cruise in luxury houseboat to Alleppey and back. Later drive to Cochin (now known as Kochi). Upon arrival at Kochi, ITP representative will transfer you to a luxury hotel. Freshen up and relax. Enjoy the Kathkali Dance Show in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 10 : Cochin
Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy full day sightseeing tour in Cochin – the commercial capital of Kerala. Major attractions in this city include St Francis Church, Fort Kochi, Mattancherry Dutch Palace, Spice Market, Fort Kochi Beach, Colonial Buildings, Chinese Fishing Nets, etc. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel

Day 11 : Cochin – Departure
In time India Travel Partner representative will transfer you to Kochi International Airport to board flight for your home/onward destination.
